Up Against the Wall: Art, Activism, and the AIDS Poster is a truly remarkable exhibition at the Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester that features over 160 posters from the University of Rochester's vast AIDS Education Collection. Take an inside look at how the collection of over 8000 posters started, how the Up Against the Wall exhibit came to be, and how artists and organizations came together to inspire, educate and impact the public. Up Against The Wall will be exhibited at the MAG until June.

The George Eastman Museum's collection of images is comprised of more than 28,000 moving image titles and over 400,000 photographic objects dating back to the early 1800's. Each and every one of these items has to go through an extensive preservation process. Let's take a look at what that entails.  

Rochester is super fortunate to be home to the Print Club of Rochester, a nearly century-old organization that holds an unmatched history of printmaking. Aired 10/26/18.

Since it's founding in 1947, the George Eastman Museum has collected and preserved the worlds largest collection of camera technology. With over 16,000 items in its collection. We were lucky enough to get a tour of their technology vault. 

There aren't many people who warrant having a year dedicated to them, but Frederick Douglass is certainly one of them. The Rochester Contemporary Art Center brought together a diverse group of artists to commemorate his legacy. Aired 3/2/18.

The Rochester Museum & Science Center is home to numerous fascinating exhibits. One of them, a diorama of Rochester in 1838, was in desperate need of repair. Luckily, the talented staff at the museum have tirelessly restored this historic gem.

The Vietnam War touches so many lives. Here in Rochester, playwright, Spencer Christiano has written a play that conveys's he and his families experience losing a loved one during the war. We were lucky to catch a performance of M.I.A. at MuCCC Theatre. Aired 9/15/17.

So for the month of June we presented a series of videos produced by the museum that explain some of these photographic processes. Tonight we have our final installment in the series, this time we about Digital photography. You may think you know it's history, but my guess is that you're about to learn some things that you may not have known. Aired 6/3/16.
