The past two years have been a whirlwind for local artist, Brittany Williams. From Wall\Therapy in 2015 to showing work in Berlin to her first solo show, she's worked to find her voice and perfect her style. She's also committed herself to changing the narrative when it comes to the public perception of women of color. We recently sat down with her at the Brainery, take a look. Aired 7/21/17

Carl Peters Mural Project

In the late 1930's and early 1940's the Federal government funded the Works Progress Administration or WPA. While the WPA mostly funded public construction projects, one of its initiatives was to fund the making of art. Carl Peters was a WPA artist who worked here in Rochester. The Memorial Art Gallery helped administer the art program here in Rochester. The Gallery funded muralist Carl Peters for a series of artworks, some of which are still on display in local school buildings.

Lea Rizzo

As this year's WALL\THERAPY artists finish up their mural around town, we thought we'd share with you this segment about local artist, Lea Rizzo. Lea has participated in WALL\THERAPY and her murals can be seen around town, in the South Wedge and also in Highland Hospital. It's that time of year again, every year for the past five years, a group of world renowned muralists comes to Rochester to join local artists in adding color, texture and vibrancy to our city streets through art. Wall\Therapy artists from across the globe will be in Rochester, painting walls around the city. Steve Carpenter

His patrons have included European royalty and his work has been shown on nearly every continent.
