Rick Guidotti has had a career that's taken him from New York City to Milan and now to Rochester. As a fashion photographer he photographed high fashion models. He's now focused his lens on highlighting the beauty in all of us. Through his organization, Positive Exposure, Rick spends his time photographing people with genetic differences. In preparation for it's thirtieth anniversary celebration, The Golisano Foundation brought Rick to the George Eastman House to photograph twenty individuals here in Rochester. We were fortunate to be there to document the process, here's a look.

Let's meet David Haygood, artist and owner of Gallery One Fine Arts. David has had a long career in the art world and has had a big impact in the lives of numerous young people in the Rochester region. Let's visit him in his gallery to learn more. Aired 9/18/15. 

Richard Aerni is a staple of the Rochester art scene. If you've ever been to Clothesline Festival at the Memorial Art Gallery, you'd be hard pressed to miss him. Just look for the ceramics that catch your eye from a distance and draw you in with their intricate and unique glazes. We had the pleasure of visiting him in his studio, here's a look. Just west of Rochester, NY is an area known as the Oatka Valley – a region where Native Americans once  settled around the banks of an ancient creek.  It is here where we meet up with artists Adriana and Jack Slutzky, a husband and wife team who use the sacred land as a natural gallery, exhibiting works that reflect the spiritual essence of women and their connection to nature. As this year's WALL\THERAPY artists finish up their mural around town, we thought we'd share with you this segment about local artist, Lea Rizzo. Lea has participated in WALL\THERAPY and her murals can be seen around town, in the South Wedge and also in Highland Hospital. Since returning to Rochester after some time away, she has dedicated herself to getting art into the streets and into our everyday lives. Here's a look. Aired 7/24/15. 

It's that time of year again, every year for the past five years, a group of world renowned muralists comes to Rochester to join local artists in adding color, texture and vibrancy to our city streets through art. Wall\Therapy artists from across the globe will be in Rochester, painting walls around the city. Keep an eye out while you're out and about, you'll see once bare walls take on a new life as beautiful pieces of art. We're highlighting the work of a variety of artists all filmed by local filmmaker Ben Gonyo. He's the man behind the media company, Fish & Crown Creative. Gonyo dedicated time and effort to document the creative energies of a variety of artists such as Katie Carey, Even-Odd Creative, Josh Scott and Amy Rau. We visit the Hungerford Building in Rochester, NY. As part of the burdgeoning art scene in Rochester, artist Heather Swenson is using advanced screen printing techniques to create intricate prints. Just see for yourself at how these detailed prints are made, it's pretty impressive. Aired 5/29/15.

Film or digital? For most of us, digital photography is all we know anymore. But you would be mistaken if you thought film was dead. One look at the work of local photographer Richard Margolis and you'll quickly notice a level of detail that's hard to achieve using modern technology. We visited Richard in his Anderson Alley studio to talk about large format film photography. Take a look. Aired 5/8/15.

Abstract art is sometimes looked at as something only people deep inside the art world can understand. But local artist, St. Monci says maybe you don't need to try to understand it. Maybe you don't need to know why you like a piece of art; it's ok to just like it because you do. It's ok to not know why. St. Monci plays with shape, color and composition to focus on the fundamentals of art, to focus in on the basics in a very complex and abstract way. Aired 4/24/15.
